20 Week Ban
Despite the request of the pro-life Democratic , Governor Tomblin refused to call a special session to allow the pro-life Democrats to override his veto of the 20-Week Abortion. As a result, the issue was used against our pro-life Democrats in the 2014 General Election and many lost. A few remain, and we have an opportunity in this session to make sure either Governor Tomblin does not veto the 20-Week Abortion Ban; or that our pro-life Democrats have the opportunity to override his veto. If you live in West Virginia, we urge you to work with our local chapter to help us put pressure on Governor Tomblin and support our pro-life Democrats.

The West Virginia Constitution provides for the legislature to address a Governor’s “objections” to a vetoed bill and provides an opportunity to “reconsider the returned bill.” Since you vetoed HB 4588 after we adjourned we did not have an opportunity to address your concerns.
As you know Section 7.14 of the West Virginia Constitution specifically states that,
