Congressman Collin Peterson has served since 1991, consistently voting pro-life. Republicans view the seat as a pick-up opportunity should Peterson retire. The district tends to vote Republican, but has a handful of elected pro-life Democratic state legislators.

Abortion Lobby Doubles Efforts That Would Turn the Seat Red
Fairfax, VA May 18, 2022 - A Democratic primary challenger to incumbent Congressman Henry Cuellar called House leadership to withdraw their endorsement of the incumbent Congressman. House Majority Whip Representative James Clyburn (D-SC) campaigned recently with Cuellar to reinforce the endorsement and stress that the Democratic Party is inclusive and does not have a litmus test. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer have also endorsed Congressman Cuellar.
“We appreciate the Democratic leadership supporting Congressman Cuellar and promoting a big tent approach to election success,” said Kristen Day, Executive...
Condemns Democratic Agitators for Bullying Him to Step Down
(Fairfax, VA) September 7, 2022 - Democrats For Life of America (DFLA) criticized the North Dakota Democratic elites’ strong-arm tactics for removing Democratic Congressional candidate Mark Haugen from the ballot.
“The Democratic leadership used full-fledged bullying to pressure Mark Haugen to end his Congressional Campaign 62 days before the election,” said Kristen Day, Executive Director of Democrats for Life. “Haugen is a long-time and loyal Democrat who deserves better from a Party facing major challenges in this red state.”
North Dakota’s state legislature has too few Democrats among its ranks: only 7 out of 49...
Wednesday, November 9, 2022 - Fairfax, VA — Democrats for Life of America (DFLA) warns Democratic leaders that the election results are not a mandate to advance an extreme abortion agenda nationwide. Instead it is an opportunity for Democrats to take the lead on supporting women, children and families.
“In the aftermath of Dobbs, Democrats spent one-third of their advertising budget advancing an extreme agenda successfully packaged as protecting women’s rights,” said Kristen Day, Executive Director of DFLA. “It was in fact a very expensive cheap shot that temporarily may have limited Democratic losses in the near aftermath of Dobbs, but endangers our Party...

One year ago at around 2:30 PM outside the Capitol, rioters climbed the walls and pushed past barriers outside the building. Mobs of Trump supporters gained entry inside after storming past police, with some smashing windows, beating others, and institaging other acts of violence. Many wore MAGA hats and shouted and chanted disturbing words and slurs.
Police began to evacuate lawmakers and staff present for the Electoral College vote. On their way out, staffers grabbed the boxes of ballots to take them to safety. Police were able to clear the rioters from the Senate floor around 3:26 PM. And at 3:36 PM, Trump finally...
Bill would also mandate late-term abortion in all 50 States
Fairfax, VA - Senator Schumer scheduled a second vote to advance the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA), a bill that would go further than Roe. The legislation failed to garner the 60 vote threshold required to move the bill forward for debate.
“This is an extreme bill that goes further than Roe,” said Kristen Day, Executive Director, Democrats For Life of America. “Senator Schumer wanted to put Senators on record and he may not like the outcome this fall. A vote against abortion extremism will bring voters to the polls - particularly in the states like Ohio, Georgia, and Arizona that are toss-ups.”
The legislation would prohibit...
STATEMENT ON THE HYDE AMENDMENT
By Kristen Day, Executive Director, Democrats For Life of America
Today, the House passed the first spending bill in 45 years that does not include the Hyde Amendment, one of the most critical pro-life protections that America has on the books. We are deeply disappointed and disturbed that House Democrats removed this bipartisan provision that has protected preborn human life for decades.
Democrats are out of touch with mainstream Americans who overwhelmingly object to funding abortion.
For a party that champions minority communities, repealing Hyde is the epitome of hypocrisy as minorities are overrepresented in abortion numbers. Over fifty...
