Democrats for Life of America: Campus Outreach, seeks to mobilize the energy and the enthusiasm of today's students and young people in support of DFLA's efforts to promote the pro-life bloc of the Democratic Party. Grassroots efforts on college campuses can effectively organize to elect and support pro-life leaders in the Democratic Party and promote awareness of whole life issues such as abortion, capital punishment, euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research, poverty and genocide. Efforts on college campuses around the country will be critical in placing the defense of human dignity and life at the forefront of the national agenda.
Our generation has shown a renewed awareness in the plight of others. As a generation we have also demonstrated a great belief in the equality of all people. We are therefore, tasked with ensuring that every human life is protected and each individual's human dignity is defended. We have a responsibility to channel our energy and ambition to turn our awareness into action that addresses whole life issues.
Since the decision of Roe vs. Wade was handed down 38 years ago and the Democratic Party's support of its conclusion to legalize abortion was established, many Democrats have been unable to reconcile their beliefs and convictions with this portion of the Party's platform. In promoting the pro-life bloc of the Democratic Party we not only can reaffirm the Democratic Party's commitment to the most vulnerable members of our society, but we can reestablish the Party as the inclusive, "big-tent" party that it is.
We need your help in promoting the platform of the pro-life bloc of the Democratic Party on your campus. We ask that you write letters to your school paper, work in conjunction with the College Democrats on your campus and use forms of social media to promote awareness and encourage action on whole life issues.
