A consistent whole-life voice for Illinois' 3rd Congressional District
Dan Lipinski was elected to Congress in 2004, and has consistently been a champion of whole-life issues during all four terms.
In 2009 and 2010, he led the fight against federal funding of abortion in the Health Care Bill. In 2012 and 2013, he was a very vocal advocate for protection of conscience rights in health care, including supporting the effort to add a conscience protection clause in the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act.
Lipinski is the cosponsor of the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act (HR 5939), the Patients First Act (H.R. 877), and the Protect Life Act (HR 5111).
Dan serves on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the Committee on Science and Technology where he sits on two subcommittees, Research and Science Education, and Technology and Innovation.
In 1988, Dan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northwestern University in Evanston, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following Northwestern, Dan went on to earn a Master of Science Degree in Engineering-Economic Systems from Stanford University, and a Doctoral Degree in Political Science from Duke University.
